“…but now I’d like to invite our winner OneWatt to come up and accept their award.”

Our jaws dropped.

Time slowed.

The theme song from Chariots of Fire began playing in our Marketing Director’s head as we made our way up the stage.

Asian Utility Week 2018 was held at IMPACT Arena Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. OneWatt was among the 15 startups that day that pitched their products and solutions to thousands of professionals involved in the Electricity, Water, and Gas industries.

Needless to say, the event was right up our alley.

Among those in attendance were the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, ENGIE, PTT, Tokyo Electric Power Company, and even MERALCO and Aboitiz Power from the Philippines (shoutout to sir Aladino “Bong” Borja Jr. from the Power Distribution Group of AboitizPower – we enjoyed listening to your talk on Digital Transformation on Distribution Utilities)!

The event was quite packed – there were booths all over and they encompassed half the whole event space. The rest of the venue was reserved for different areas of interest such as Digital Energy, Innovations in Digital Services, Analytics Programs & Cloud Platforms, and Smart Networks & Digital Meters. It was a great opportunity to learn from and network with big players in the industry.

Just having been able to attend the event was good enough – winning the award was a huge bonus and granted us good exposure. We would like to thank the judges for selecting us, and Clarion Events for organizing Asian Utility Week 2018. We are very proud and honored to have this award sit in our office for all to see.

Thank you to Clarion Events for organizing the event and the judges for selecting us. We’ll see you at the next event!

We’ll see you all at next year’s Asian Utility Week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We can’t wait to see how much we’ll have grown and how much more we’ll have to offer to the industry by then.
